Overview
TouGaoYa is a local-first Markdown editor and multi-platform publishing workbench. Our core principle: your drafts, images and account credentials belong to you and stay on your device by default.
Data Collection
What we do NOT collect
- Markdown draft content
- Imported articles, images or attachments
- Browser cookies or platform login credentials
- Account passwords, API keys or other sensitive configuration
What we do collect
- Anonymous analytics: optional usage statistics (can be disabled in settings)
- Crash reports: technical logs that contain no user content
- Activation info: machine ID and Pro license status
Data Processing
Local processing
- Markdown editing, rendering and image pre-compression happen locally
- Workspace files are stored in your chosen local directory
- Settings and preferences are stored in the app’s local configuration
Browser extension bridge
Platform login, cookies, page extraction and publishing are handled by the TouGaoYa Bridge extension inside your Chrome/Edge. The desktop app never stores platform passwords.
AI features
- AI requests send only the text you select to the AI endpoint you configure in Settings (multiple built-in cloud OpenAI-compatible providers, or a custom endpoint); TouGaoYa does not store or relay it
- If you point the custom endpoint at a local inference service (e.g. Ollama, LM Studio), your data never leaves the device
Workspace cloud sync
Optionally sync workspace files to your own GitHub repository via GitHub workspace sync. Synced content is subject to GitHub’s privacy policy.
You may also enable TouGaoYa Cloud (optional replica): plaintext Markdown at the same trust level as GitHub sync; you can turn it off, after which we stop writing to our servers. Image binaries never enter first-party cloud.

Your Rights
- Export or delete your local workspace at any time
- Disable anonymous analytics at any time
- Switch or disable the AI provider at any time
- Turn off TouGaoYa Cloud or switch back to local-only / GitHub at any time
